Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Shevet is an app for homeschooling families: activities, booking and community. This policy explains what information we keep, why, who it is shared with and what your rights are. We wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected].
Who is responsible
The service is operated by Liat Shmilove, licensed business (osek murshe) no. 306764754, Israel ("Shevet", "we"). For anything about privacy: [email protected].
What we keep
Parents
- Email address: to send you a sign-in code. No passwords.
- Profile: a display name (for example "The Levy family"), country, town, language, and optionally an educational approach.
- Children's ages only: no names, no birth dates and no photos. Only parents hold accounts.
- Bookings: which activity you booked, how many children and their ages, and a note if you wrote one.
- Activity requests: when you ask for an activity that is missing in your area (category, region, age and a note).
Businesses and instructors
- Business name, contact email and phone, country, town and description.
- The activities you post, including the instructor's name and meeting place. This information is public.
- A background check for working with children, if you choose to show the "Verified instructor" badge. We check it and keep only the fact that it was checked.
Everyone who uses the site or app
- Usage statistics: which screens and actions were used (for example "viewed an activity", "started a booking"), country and language, with a random device identifier. We use this only to understand what works and improve the service. No third-party trackers and no ads.
- The AI assistant: the questions you type into the help button and the answers given, to answer and improve the answers.
- Messages to the team: your email, your message, and the conversation with the assistant if there was one.
What we don't do
- We don't sell information or share it for advertising.
- We don't store card details. During the beta there is no payment in the app, and you pay the business directly.
- We don't show home addresses. Other parents only see your town.
Who we share it with
- The business you booked with: sees your display name, email, the ages of the children booked and your note, to arrange the activity and payment with you.
- Service providers working for us, only to run the service:
- Supabase: database and sign-in. Servers in the European Union (Frankfurt).
- Cloudflare: hosting and delivery of the site and app.
- Resend: sending the sign-in code email.
- Anthropic: processing questions to the AI assistant, when it is enabled. Please don't write sensitive details to the assistant.
- Google Fonts: loading the site's fonts (your browser's IP address is visible to Google).
- When the law requires it: for example under an order from a competent authority.
What is stored on your device
The app doesn't use cookies. It stores your settings, saved items, a random identifier for statistics and your sign-in token in the browser's storage. You can delete all of this with "Delete my data" in your profile, or by clearing the site's data in your browser.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while the account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and bookings are deleted too. Usage statistics and activity requests are kept without any link to you, for statistics only. Messages to the team are kept as long as needed to reply and improve the service, and deleted on request.
Your rights
- See and correct: most details can be viewed and edited in your profile. For anything else, write to us.
- Delete: in your profile, "Delete my data" deletes your account from our server and your device. You can also ask by email.
- Stay hidden: you can turn off "Show me to parents nearby" at any time.
- If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have rights under the GDPR: to get a copy of your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. In Israel you can contact the Privacy Protection Authority.
We reply to every request within 30 days.
Legal basis (EU and UK users)
Account, bookings and messages: to provide the service you asked for. Usage statistics and security: our legitimate interest in improving and protecting the service. Any other processing only with your consent.
Security
Access is limited row by row in the database: each user sees only what belongs to them, and a business sees only the bookings for its own activities. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). No system is completely immune, and if a breach occurs we will notify as the law requires.
Children
The service is for parents and businesses aged 18 and over. We don't collect identifying information about children, only their age.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. We will announce significant changes in the app or by email.
